Plan a drier, more usable outdoor space below an elevated deck. Trex RainEscape uses troughs and downspouts beneath the deck boards to collect rain and snowmelt and route it away from the area below.

Create More Usable Space Below an Elevated Deck
Trex RainEscape is installed above the deck joists and below the deck boards. Water that passes through the gaps in the decking is directed into the system and toward the deck edge instead of dripping into the space below.
That can make the area beneath a raised deck more practical for an outdoor seating area, storage, or a finished under-deck ceiling. Any lighting, fan, electrical, or other finish work should be planned with the appropriate qualified trades.

Where RainEscape Fits Best
RainEscape is typically installed by Dynasty Decks during construction of a new elevated deck. A major rebuild may also provide an opportunity when the decking is already being removed. Existing-deck RainEscape projects can be evaluated, but they are uncommon and the deck boards must be removed before the system can be installed.
A project review should confirm the deck framing, drainage path, available height, downspout locations, and how you want to use the space below before the system is included in the design.

The best time to make drainage, ceiling, stair, lighting, and access decisions is before construction begins. Coordinating those details early helps the deck and the area below work as one outdoor-living plan.
Before the deck is finished, the installed drainage system should be water-tested in accordance with the current manufacturer instructions.
